husband + pyrotechnics = nervous wife

We celebrated New Year's at Grandma's house. The cousins, Nate and Nova, supplied plenty of excitement for our girls. Rafe did the whole fireworks thing (for Nate, mainly) and we both agreed fireworks are a pretty big waste of money. The kids kinda like 'em, but they're so dang expensive. Anyway, here are pics of the kiddos doing up New Year's.

Right before turning in for the last time in 2006, I had the privilege of seeing this:

Christmas

As you can see, I didn't spend much time taking photos of the kids on Christmas day--nothing frame-worthy here. But this one cracks me up: Elle looking happy. Her favorite present? "Candy."
With the cousins:
One more with my little nephews, Cole and Logan: Me with my sister Kim. Okay, she's not really my sister :(
And I love this one with Rhoda, Elle, and my grandmother.

Hope all of you had a great holiday and are recuperating well from all the goings-on. Our tree's on the curb and I couldn't be happier about that. We had a great Christmas this year and saw LOTS of family, but I'm exhausted. We just wrapped up a party at our house tonight and I can't wait to be unconscious in my bed....so...tired.... love you guys!

Look at my big girl!

We really like this little sweetheart:
I took these pics the other day of our FIVE-year-old. Look at her a few years back.

We had a costume party to go to this Halloween and, initially, we were less than excited. But Rafe proposed this idea, and we ended up having much fun as the Hollywood IT couple. Maybe we set ourselves up--dressing like the two most attractive people on the planet--but that's okay...And here we have our little bride and Indian princess, who did not attend the party, but had a good time working to supply their parents with some pretty awesome candy.

my babies...

Here are a few pics I took of the girls last month out at the Roberts'. (Anna Kate is 5 and Elle just turned 3.) They were so cooperative...bless their hearts!

Bad hair is humbling...

Yesterday I went to get my hair cut. I wanted a bit more than a trim but nothing drastic, and for no reasonable explanation, I leave with my hair whacked. The girl had to have been crazy. I noticed she was being a bit reckless with her scissors but when I realized what was actually happening, it was too late. Now I have VERY short hair--a pixie you might say. I'm not a pixie kind of gal. So I end up crying half the day over my unattractive, unwanted, never-asked-for haircut. I don't think I have ever cried over hair. But I have never had a hair experience like this one. Pictures of me from today, with things finally in perspective.

p.s. don't even start to tell me it's cute, like some of you have tried to do.
